The Foundation of Proclamation of the Gospel is Prayer

This Christmas  we again celebrate and give thanks that the Son of God and son of the Virgin Mary came into our world to save us and give us eternal life. This is the greatest gift we can receive, so great we cannot really grasp its infinite goodness. In order to bring this gift of salvation and eternal life to all human beings, Jesus final command to us was: "Go out to the whole, proclaim the good news, etc." Because of your generous help, our lay evangelist are able to proclaim the gospel, teach the catechumens Jesus' teaching and lead them to Baptism.

Many of our benefactors ask how they themselves can proclaim the gospel better.  Today I will share with you what the experience of our most fruitful lay evangelists teaches me: the foundation of proclamation of the gospel is prayer.  It is through prayer that we come to know Jesus whom we proclaim and understand His teachings. Through prayer we experience that "each day He is with us."  I have discovered that most of our most fruitful evangelists are those who pray the most.  These lay evangelist pray two to three hours many days, if they face difficult situations they begin novenas (some are always making a novena for some cause!), they make an eight day retreat each year.  They use many different methods of prayer: Ignatian contemplation and meditation, lectio divina, Carmalite contemplation, rosary, novenas, and, of course, constant petitionary prayer for their catechumens.  The anchor of their prayer is the rosary and adoration of Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.

So if you want to proclaim the gospel better, evangelize better, pray more. Especially pray for the  conversion of your non-Catholic family members, friends and co-workers.  To evangelize you must first love the non-Catholic you hope to bring closer to Jesus Christ.  Praying for them is really loving them with God's love, charity.  To start, ask the Holy Spirit for five names from among the non-Catholics you know.  Then each day ask God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit to bless each one's health, bless their families, bless their work and most important to give them graces of Faith and conversion to Jesus. Make this prayer many times each day. You can also offer the Rosary for them and especially offer Masses for them. After you pray for them like this every day for 3-6 months, you will have a new relationship with them; because now God will be part of your relationship.  Get to know them again in this new relationship of you, them and God.  Then serve them, help them if God gives you such an opportunity.  If God gives you good opportunity, share your faith with them; share how God and Jesus have helped you, blessed you in your life.  Remember, if you help lead a family member, or friend, or co-worker to know and love Jesus, you are sharing in God giving him or her the greatest possible gift: eternal life. 宣揚福音最重要的基礎-祈禱

      今年聖誕節要再次慶祝與感謝，天主之子生於童貞瑪利亞，為拯救我們，賜予我們永生。這是我們得到的最大恩賜，這恩賜那麼偉大，以至我們不能真正領會這無盡的仁慈。為了將這救贖的恩寵和永生賜予全人類，耶穌最後給我們的命令是:「你們要去使萬民成為門徒，因父及子及聖神之名給他們授洗，教訓他們我所吩咐你們的一切。看！我同你們天天在一起，直到今世的終結。」(瑪廿八:19-20)

     因著你們慷慨的幫助，讓我們的福傳師能夠宣揚福音，教導慕道者認識耶穌所啟示的真理，進一步帶領他們皈依領洗。很多的恩人問，他們自己如何能夠更好的傳揚福音?今天我要和你們分享，我們最具福傳成果的福傳師，他們的經驗教導我:宣揚福音最重要的基礎是---祈禱。祈禱使我們更認識我們所宣講的耶穌，以及了解祂給予我們的教導。藉由祈禱，使我們經驗到〝祂天天與我們同在〞的事實。多半來說，最具福傳成果的福傳師，也是祈禱最多的。

     他們往往一天祈禱2、3個小時，當面臨到某些困難，他們會祈禱得更多，例如做九日敬禮。 (有一些福傳師為一個福傳意向會經常地奉獻九日敬禮)並且每年做一次八天避靜。他們會運用不同的祈禱方法:聖依納爵的默想和默觀，聖言誦讀，加爾默羅的靜觀祈禱，玫瑰經、九日敬禮，當然還有持續地為他們的慕道者奉獻祈求。普遍來說，他們祈禱的基礎仍是參與彌撒、唸玫瑰經，以及朝拜聖體。

     所以如果您要更好地宣揚福音與福傳，要更多地祈禱。特別為您身邊還不是教友的家人、朋友、同事祈禱。為了傳福音，首先您需要先愛那些您願意帶領親近耶穌的人。為他們祈禱是真正地以天主的愛和慈善來愛他們。開始之初，可以祈求聖神，從您所認識的外教友中，賜您五個名字。然後每天請求天父、耶穌和聖神祝福他們每一個人的健康，賜福他們的家庭，祝福他們的工作，而最重要的是為他們祈求信德與皈依耶穌基督的恩寵。每天多次為他們奉獻這樣的祈禱。您也可以為他們奉獻玫瑰經、彌撒。當您這樣每天為他們祈禱3~6個月，您和他們將會有一種新的關係：天主也臨在你和他們的關係當中，在這樣的關係中，您會再一次認識他們。如果天主給機會，您可以為他們服務、幫助他們。如果天主給您機會，要向他們分享天主和耶穌如何在您的生活中幫助您、祝福您。記得，當您帶領您的親友或同事認識耶穌基督，您是在向他/她分享天主要給予的最美好的禮物：永生。

細胞小組在樹林天主堂的推展

我是誰？我是來自印尼的聖言會會士--樹林耶穌聖心堂的主任司鐸柏實理神父，迄今任本堂神父6年，對這份使命感到非常的喜樂。當然在台灣一定要考慮直接福傳的重要性。

因此，2年前我很高興能與華人福傳基金會(CLM, Chinese Lay Missionaries)合作推展細胞小組，許智雄福傳師被派遣來協助這一計畫的執行。雖然開始有些困難，但目前建立了3個細胞小組，可以說已經開始結出好的果實了。

在此，我要分享3件事情，關於細胞小組的開始、這些細胞小組如何被本堂教友接納並融入、這些細胞小組好的果實。

A.細胞小組的開始：我必須承認，開始推動時，多半教友並不想推動也不想參加，起因他們不了解細胞小組是甚麼？這樣的細胞小組能如何帶動福傳？細胞小組如何能帶動整個堂區？此一想法讓細胞小組好像一個陌生人來到我們的團體。

B.細胞小組融入本堂並被接納，有3個重要因素：

1.許志雄福傳師堅持耐心地給本堂教友(特別是傳協會)解釋細胞小組是甚麼。2.細胞小組開始建立以後，我選定一位細胞小組教友，加入本堂傳協會，從那時起，整個本堂開始接受細胞小組為本堂組織之一。3.因為細胞小組強調祈禱及彼此代禱(包括在成員家庭聚會)，不少成員在信仰與靈修生活方面都有真正的成長，而且有時小組團體體驗到，藉由他們的祈禱受到治療，清楚體驗到天主的臨在。

因此，從開始時的困難，到現在為止我們有3個小組被建立並被接受，(同時，我得知許智雄福傳師在鶯歌天主堂也建立了3個細胞小組)，我希望他們將來會分裂成6組，但是，我們現在仍然需要培育細胞小組的領導人才。觀察已存在的3個細胞小組，我們已看到了好的果實。

C.現在向你們分享3個好的果實

1.細胞小組成為新的慕道者的來源。例如，細胞小組去一個成員家中祈禱，家中非教友成員對此聚會方式開始有好感之後，也參加了細胞小組，他們經驗了祈禱與共融後，也願意了解我們的信仰而進入慕道班。

2.因為不少細胞小組的成員，是真正經歷過了信仰祈禱生活的成長，身為本堂神父，我可體驗到整個本堂，有更多的靈修活力與能量。

3.細胞小組是一個好的場域，對新領洗教友而言，他們可以在小組中受到關懷，並繼續接受培育。他們的信仰與祈禱生活能夠持續的正向、深化發展。

我謹向你們分享我的經驗，雖然細胞小組開始不容易，但在自己的團體中會發現是值得推動的。
