Like the traditional missionary ...

Dear friends,

Christmas is around the corner, and it is a time to celebrate a birth and a new life. We are not only remembering the birth of Jesus, but also to spiritually grow new lives. In the U.S., adult baptisms are only scheduled once a year at Easter Vigil as a symbol of entering new life. The parishes in Taiwan baptize catechumen several times a year, including Christmas time. Many catechumens will soon be baptized at the parishes that are collaborating with our evangelists. Let us pray for them!

In the last newsletter, Fr. Aldrich introduced the key to a successful large evangelism event. He now shares a method that can be used within a small group. To raise awareness of evangelism among Catholics, we must emphasize Catholic formation in addition to reaching out to non-Catholics. In this newsletter, you will take a peek at the spiritual formation of our students at our Formation Center and the spiritual support given our evangelists. The love of God overflows from their hearts to the people around them. This newsletter also includes reflections from a new evangelist, an evangelist from our first class, and a newly baptized Catholic. Coincidentally, they all shared about God’s love radiating through them at different stages and roles in their lives.

Like the traditional missionary, over the last four years, during the summer and winter breaks from the Fu Jen Theologate , Fr. Aldrich travels to one city per week to share about his evangelism experience in Taiwan and to raise funds in the U.S. for the Chinese evangelism ministry in Taiwan, which we hope can expand to China when the government opens its doors. We deeply appreciate your support and generosity in the past, and we sincerely ask for your continuous financial support and prayers in order to sustain more growth to serve more people.

May God bestow his blessings to you and your loved ones!

In Christ,

Yvonne Chow
